Mauao Adventures are proud to present
SUP AWAY - TE TAUIHU
Tasman to Marlborough
This is a unique opportunity to join us on a SUP focused trip to Te Tauihu o Te Waka A Maui, otherwise known as the area from Abel Tasman to Picton at the top of the South Island of New Zealand.
Spend 9-10 delicious days with us meeting locals, experiencing ample time on the ocean and immersing in the environment.
Accompanied by our experienced and qualified guide, this exclusive trip is tailored to the adventurous stand up paddler.
"WAKA TE TASMAN"
"Waka Abel Tasman" is an attraction that hosts waka ama experiences. We spend a day with them adventuring their waters and learning about the area.
The "Waka Te Tasman" is a waka ama race situated in Kaiteriteri. You will be encouraged to partake in this amazing waka ama race with us as we are entering a 6-person novice crew. Don't worry if you are a beginner, as we will be sure to get some practice in beforehand. More info on this to come with registration.
We jump on a water shuttle and head up the coast to Tonga Island. A marine reserve, host to New Zealand Fur Seals, we paddle this area and slip in some snorkel exploration. On shore, Tonga Bay offers up some sunbathing and hiking options.
Toby from "Paddle Nelson" awaits our arrival in November. An avid paddler, and maker of the "Moana" brand of stand up paddle gear, he's super keen to get us out on the Maitai River and show us around his district.
We don't leave the South without wetting our boards in the Marlborough Sounds. We catch a water shuttle to Endeavour Inlet, passing many other scenic areas along the way, and fingers crossed for some wildlife sightings. This final experience to top off our amazing South Island SUP adventure.
