Register your young human with us for this amazing school holiday program.  Jam-packed with benefits, we get to utilise all our skills and resources to build up their affiliation with the ocean and environment.

This is a week-long program introducing the kids to stand up paddling and waka ama, developing their skills in both sports. We also incorporate environmental and cultural workshops, treading the Mauao, Moturiki and Hopukiore tracks.

For stand up paddling, we spend some time building up their skills on the flat water before we take them on a couple of adventures. We also take the boards over to Main Beach and have a play in the waves, teaching them how to SUP surf.

On the waka ama, again some skill development and adventuring, focusing on teamwork.  We take it up a notch or two by doing some race training and teach the kids how to steer a waka.

The Mount area is a huge environmental and cultural classroom, filled with marine and bird life, rich in history and cultural significance, both Maori and European.  We escort the kids on walks around the Mount area, learning about significant spots and the various eco systems that make our beaches that extra bit more beautiful.

Thrown into the mix is the added benefit of weather reading and ocean safety.  We also teach them how to execute a SUP rescue and correct a tipped waka ama.

We have a ratio of 5 kids max to every instructor.  Our instructors are SUP and first aid qualified.  This program is available in the October, Summer and April school holidays.  And because we have a mix of water, land and classroom activities, we are able to operate in any weather.
